Mary Virginia Clair Mosby

Mary Virginia Clair Spell was born July 13, 1945 in Carnegie, PA to the late Wilbur and Natherlee Spell. She graduated from Oliver High School, Pittsburgh, PA in 1963, and promptly married her high school sweetheart, John Clifton Mosby, on August 1, 1963. After growing up in Pennysylvania, she spent her life traveling and living all over the country, on several tours of duty, with her husband and family. They settled in their final home in Temple Hills, MD in 1983. Once settled in MD she worked a few civil service postions (PRC, MillStone) before she started her career at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP). She was a high-performing Executive Assistant for some of the Top Executives, and received several accolades within her tenure with BEP. She spent 17 years in her career, then retired from the Bureau, and Government Service in 2007. Mary knew the Lord Jesus and was a faithful believer. She was baptized after birth at First Baptist Church in PA on July 29, 1945; then again on Dec. 6, 1987 after her family found their church home at Elim Baptist Church in Temple Hills, MD. She spent time at Elim as a Secretary for the church and supporting her husband as a Deacon. Mary, affectionately known as "Gin" was fun loving. She loved to joke, laugh, and have a good time with her family. She supported her husband and children through every milestone, and we loved on, and celebrated her too. One of her favorite hobbies was making pottery. She was creative, and if you have ever been to her home you have seen the ceramic pieces that she made over the years, with her bare hands. She was strong willed, and a fighter until the end. She loved her husband and family endlessly, unconditionally, and we felt every bit of it. Her laugh was contagious, and that dimple when she smiled could easily make you smile too. She will be missed. She was preceded in death in 2017 by her best friend, and husband John C Mosby whom I know was waiting for her, as she was definitely, waiting, to see him. She was the youngest of her mother and fathers children. Her father, mother, sisters and brothers preceded her in death. (Maxine, Waureen, Ruthie, Lloyd, Zandel, Matthew, Vivian, and Harold (Brother in Love). She was preceded in death by her oldest grandson, John Theo Mosby. Her memory will forever live on through her Son: John K Mosby (Wife- Romia Mosby); Grandchildren - David, Jovan, Michael (Wife- Lauren), Jaan Ishmael, and Ai'isha; and Great-grandchildren Emaria, Lakyla, David Jr., Finley, and Jireh; and a Great- Great grandson Kayden Son: Mark V Mosby (Wife- Brandie Mosby) Grandchildren - Mykaela, Mia, Monique, and Monae; and Great-grandchildren Melody and Cadence Daughter: Ebony Mosby Ray (Husband- Martin Ray); Grandchildren - Brandon, Marte' (Wife- Nya), Martin II, Marlon, Miles and Great-grandchildren Amara, Kaylani, Klayton, a new addition who has yet to be born; And a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
